Most parents and educators dealing with academic struggles are dealing with them alone. Not because support does not exist — but because the right kind of space is hard to find. A space where the conversation is real. Where no one is pretending it is simple.

The Support Circle is that space. Quarterly gatherings for parents and educators who are working through the same questions — about children who are finding school hard, about support systems that are not holding, about what to do when you have tried everything you know and it is not enough.
You come. You are honest. You leave with something useful.
And you do not feel alone in it anymore.

Who The Support Circle Is For

WHAT WE OFFER

 Structured support at every level

For parents and guardians

●  You are doing everything you can and it still feels like it is not enough.

  You want to understand what is happening for your child — not just manage the immediate problem.

●  You have sat across from teachers and come away more confused than when you went in.

  You want to talk to other parents who actually get it — without the performance of having it together.

●  You are an international or expat family navigating all of this in a school system that is not your own.

For educators

●  You have a child in your class or care who you cannot reach and you do not know what to do next.

  You want to think out loud with people who understand the weight of this work.

●  You are a tutor, support teacher, or educational consultant who sometimes feels out of ideas.

  You want to connect with parents in a space that is not a formal meeting — where the conversation can be real.

●  You believe that when educators and families are on the same side, children benefit. And you want more of that.

When parents and educators feel supported and are equipped, children and students can enjoy the benefits.

What Happens in the Room

From the moment it is in place.

Each gathering follows a simple, unhurried structure. It is not a lecture and it is not a workshop. It is a conversation with purpose — expertly guided and shaped by the people in the room.

 ▷  Open and settle  —  A chance to arrive, to meet who is beside you, and to leave whatever is outside the room outside. The first few minutes matter more than people expect.

 

▷  Bring what you are carrying  —  Every person in the room has something specific on their mind. You name it. Others receive it. No one is expected to have the answer — the point is to be heard first.
 

▷  Think it through together  —  Margaret facilitates the group through the concerns that have been named. Not as an expert dispensing solutions — as someone who has lived both sides of the table and knows how to hold a conversation that goes somewhere real.
 

▷  Leave with something specific  —  Not a list of five action items. One thing. The right thing for where you are. Something you can do before the next gathering that will make a real difference.
 

▷  Stay connected  —  The gathering ends. The community does not. Between meetings, the relationships built in the room become the quiet support that holds.

Each gathering is held quarterly. Spaces are limited. The size is kept small deliberately — because a room where everyone knows each other’s name does different work than a webinar.

Knowledge

A clearer understanding of what is actually happening — for your child, your student, yourself. Named and grounded, not vague.

Structure 

A framework for thinking about the situation — not someone else’s generic plan, but a way of organizing what you already know into something you can use.

Margaret does not arrive at The Support Circle as an expert at the front of a room. She arrives as someone who is a parent, an educator, and a learner — who has sat at every table in the conversation and knows what each one feels like from the inside.

Her role in the gathering is to hold the thread. To ask the question that opens the room. To receive what is said without judgment. To name what she is hearing when the person speaking cannot quite find the words. To bring her expertise into the room when it is needed — and to step back when the room is doing the work itself.
 

The Support Circle is not a course delivered live. It is a community that meets with purpose. The difference matters.

Where The Support Circle Fits

The Support Circle is one part of what ASELearn offers — and it connects to everything else.

 

​Some people come to The Support Circle first and then find their way to the course or to consulting when they are ready. Some complete Think Outside The Box and join the community to continue the conversation with people who are working from the same framework. Some are in consulting with Margaret and come to the gatherings for the particular quality of a room where everyone is thinking about the same things.

There is no required sequence. The Support Circle is its own thing. But it does not exist in isolation from the rest of what is built here.

No one rises alone. Every child who succeeds has something built around them. The Support Circle is part of what gets built.
